What’s New: The 2020 Dodge Lineup

July 19th, 2019 by

When you’re looking for a new car or SUV, you want a vehicle that is safe, reliable, and will fit your needs. For some, this means a family car that can get the kids to school and activities; for others, it means something fast and powerful. No matter what type of new vehicle you’re looking for, Dodge has great options in its 2020 lineup. Let’s take a look at what we have to look forward to in the coming year.

Viper
If you were one of the Viper fans who was sad to see this supercar discontinued in 2017, it’s time to rejoice, because Dodge is bringing it back. Slated to return to the lineup in 2020, the new Dodge Viper will feature a few updates. One major change is that it will no longer have a V-10 engine. While this does equate to slightly less horsepower, the car will be significantly lighter than previous models, increasing efficiency.

The new Viper will likely have a V-8 engine that will put out 550 horsepower and is rumored to be paired with a manual transmission, which will set it apart from the competition.

Durango
With the Durango, Dodge has created a vehicle that gives you the best of two worlds. It has the capability to accommodate the whole family with its three rows of seating while being the fastest SUV in its class when properly equipped. The available SRT model comes with a 6.4-liter V-8 engine that provides an impressive 475 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This model will allow you to tow up to 8,600 pounds, which is incredible for an SUV. Inside, you’ll be pleased that it offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.

Charger
The 2020 Dodge Charger provides the perfect combination of power and efficiency. A standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine gives you up to 300 horsepower, but if you need even more, you can choose from three other available engines. These include a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, a 392 HEMI V-8, or a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI SRT Hellcat V-8. This car is not only powerful but also comfortable. Passengers and drivers alike will enjoy 104.7 cubic feet of space on the interior and the ability to stay connected with the Charger’s technology features.

Journey
The Dodge Journey is the perfect affordable SUV crossover. The 2020 edition will feature two new available trims: the GT and the SRT, which will provide more powerful engines. Expect to see changes to not only the exterior but also the interior. The exact upgrades have yet to be revealed, so keep an eye out for these exciting new features.

We do know that the base 2.4-liter inline-four engine will produce 175 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. New trim levels will provide additional power, along with better towing capabilities.

These are some of the great vehicles Dodge has in store in 2020. Stop by your local Dodge dealership to find out which of these options is right for you.
