Where to Get a Great Cup of Coffee in Findlay
If you like a good cup of coffee, you’re probably picky about where you get one. Well, in Findlay, Ohio, there are plenty of places to get a coffee, but not so many that are great. Here are two places you should try if you haven’t already.
Coffee Amici
Located at 328 South Main Street in downtown Findlay, Coffee Amici brews some of the finest coffee in the state. Since 1991 they have been using Crimson Cup coffee beans. Crimson Cup imports only the finest beans to their Columbus, Ohio, facility, where they carefully select and roast them to perfection.
Coffee Amici offers a wide variety of coffee beverages, from the simple, yet rich espresso or latte, to the fabulously decadent cappuccinos and their signature latte, the Amici Mocha, a delicious blend of mocha, caramel, steamed milk, and espresso.
They also serve all their coffee drinks on ice, but if you want something a little cooler they have a great smoothie menu. Flavors include raspberry, strawberry, peach, green apple and even a berry antioxidant smoothie.
Grab a bite of one of their freshly prepared bagels, cookies, scones, Danishes, or muffins. While you are there, you should pick up some of their chocolate covered espresso beans, a snack that is sure to pick up your afternoon.
Coffee Amici is more than just a coffee shop though. They offer free Wi-Fi and encourage businesses to come down and meet with clients or coworkers and have a bite to eat. After hours, Amici becomes a destination for music and arts with a varying schedule of entertainment culminating in open mic nights every Friday.
George House Coffee & Tea Company
Another not so hidden gem is the George House Coffee & Tea Company on 1041 North Main Street. George House brews are always fresh and they offer a variety of flavors like Frangelica, hazelnut, vanilla, and even bring through seasonal offerings.
They have an extensive list of specialty coffee drinks. Try the Campfire S’mores, a delicious blend of marshmallow and chocolate or the Angel’s Kiss, an Irish cream delight. The Creme Misu is a decadent blend of cheesecake and Tiramisu and the Grasshopper is a minty blend of Creme de Menth and cocoa.
The George House menu goes beyond coffee. Lots of bagels, cinnamon rolls, pastries, and the like are made fresh daily. They offer a variety of sandwiches and wraps. Some classic American creations, like the Monte Cristo, Chicken Salad, or Egg Salad sandwiches, are served all day.
They also have options with a decidedly Mediterranean flavor. Check out their Scipio sandwich piled high with salami, pepperoni, mozzarella, tomato, basil, and finished with a pizza sauce. Or taste their Chick Pea Wrap of roasted red pepper hummus, onions, peppers, spinach, and mozzarella. They also sell stuffed grape leaves, Taboule salad, Rotini salad, and hummus in a variety of flavors.
So the next time you need a cup of coffee you should stop by one of these two fine houses. They have everything you could ever want in a coffee and so much more.
